GEM-CAR offers a way to protect yourself from legal action. Once the estimate is completed, send it to your client and wait for it to be approved before starting any work.
The estimate, the work order, and the invoice must all be signed in order to protect yourself.
Here is how to obtain a signature for your estimate.
First of all, go to Sales > Configurations > Configurations.
In the Sales tab, select the following options and click on Save:
- Include a space for the customer's signature in the quote;
- Include a space for the customer's signature in the invoice.
If these option are not marked, you will have to manually define the signature areas.
To obtain a signature, your estimate must have been generated first using the F3-Estimate button and must appear in the Documents tab. Once you found it, click the Request Signature checkbox.
A window will open asking whether you want to have the document signed now or send the PDF for an electronic signature. For this example, we will proceed with the electronic signature:
An email sending window will open. All you need to do is fill in the Recipient field (if it is not already filled in) and hit Send.
GEM-CAR will return you to the documents page where you can track the progress of the signature.
Once the document is signed, you will receive a notification on the home screen informing you accordingly:
In the estimate documents, the document will now appear in green, as it has been signed.
