While verbal agreements can be binding, they are often more difficult to enforce or prove in the event of a dispute than written contracts. To avoid any problems, it is recommended that agreements be recorded in writing.
This written agreement, which often takes the form of a work order or invoice, should include details such as:
- Scope of work: Clearly describe the services to be provided.
- Cost estimate: Specify the estimated cost of the services and any additional fees.
- Terms and conditions: Include payment terms, warranty information, and any other relevant conditions.
- Authorization: Include a section where the client can provide written authorization for the work.
To complete a verbal authorization, right-click on the item that was verbally agreed upon.
A small menu will open, and you can select the Verbal authorization tab.
The Verbal Authorization window will open. Fill in the blank fields and click Save and Close to confirm the verbal authorization.
