To transfer an item or product between two branches, use the button with the double arrows located at the top left of the screen. The inventory transfer is automatic and requires no additional approval. There is also no transfer delay configured in the system, which means that inventory is moved instantly from one branch to another.
In the Point of Sale, select the product you want to transfer from one branch to another, then click the blue magnifying glass next to the product name.
Click the Inventory tab, then click the button with the double arrows located at the top left of the screen.
In certain situations, it may be useful to create a location named “Transit 4-8 hrs” to represent the actual transit time between distant branches. This method allows for better tracking of products that are physically in transit before their final receipt at the destination branch.
However, in the case of a mobile unit or an environment where transfers are immediate, the concept of transit does not apply. The transfer is then considered instantaneous, and the inventory becomes immediately available at the destination branch.
To view the inventory of other branches, two methods are available:
1. In the Point of Sale, simply hovering the mouse allows you to see the local inventory first, followed by the inventory of other branches, for example branch 001.
Hovering the mouse over the number will display a window containing additional details:
- Quantity in stock
- Quantity reserved
- Quantity on order
2. You can search by description in the Store; click on the blue magnifying glass next to the product name.
The column displayed in bold indicates the quantity currently in stock at your local store, while the other columns show the inventories of other stores.
