Before you start using the courtesy vehicle module, you must create:
1. Create a “Used Vehicles” Category
2. Create a “Car Rental” Category
3. Create a Product for Vehicle Rentals
4. Create the Vehicles to Be Rented
5. Use the Vehicles Module in the Point of Sale
1. Create a “Used Vehicles” Category
To create a used vehicle category, click Inventory > Categories > +Add.
Add a code and the name “Used Vehicle” (description) for the new category. Select the vehicle rental type. Click Save.
2. Create a “Car Rental” Category
To create a "Car Rental” category, click on Inventory > Categories > +Add.
Add a code and the name "Car Rental”(description) for the new category. Select the rental type.
Click on Save.
3. Create a Product for Vehicle Rentals
To create a rental product, click on Inventory > Products and Services > +Add.
Add the product code, name/description, and select the category. Click on Save.
3.1. Configure Rates
Click on the Rental tab. Select the pricing type and the price you want to charge. Click Save.
4. Create the Vehicles to Be Rented
To create a product for the vehicles to be rented, click Inventory > Products and Services > +Add.
Add the product code, name/description, and select the category. Click Save.
5. Use the Vehicles Module in the Point of Sale
Create a quote in the Point of Sale or open an existing quote. Then, add the “Rental” product to the quote.
In the next window, click the magnifying glass to select the vehicle or type the vehicle name in the suggestion box. Then, click Save and Close.
Enter the following information:
- Start Date
- End Date
- Starting Odometer
- Ending Odometer
- Pricing Calculation
- Price
- Fixed Price
- Total Price
- Pricing Calculation (2)
- Price per Mileage
- Fuel
- Driver
- Phone
- Driver's License
- Expiration
Click Save and Close.
When the client returns, reopen the quote and highlight the rental product. Click the red gear icon, the additional information window will open. Update the return date and final odometer reading. Click Save.
