Duplicate the Files

Several elements can be duplicated. The presence of this icon on the screen indicates that you can duplicate the file you are currently viewing. The clipboard icon is usually located at the bottom of your screen, as part of this group of icons.

Simply click on the icon to generate the duplicate record. All you then need to do is modify the content of the new record to reflect any information that differs from the source record, in particular the code. Keep in mind that even in cases where almost all of the information in the new record is identical to that in the source record, the code assigned to it must remain UNIQUE, and there must also be some difference between the information in the source record and that in the new record that has been created.

Remember... It must not be possible to find two perfectly identical records with two different codes, since a code must designate a client, supplier, product, service, employee, etc. that is UNIQUE.

In the following example, we will create a copy of a client record and thus generate a new client record for a neighbor of the latter. First, let's go to the record to be copied: click on Clients > Clients and select the right file to be copied.

Once in the file, scroll down to see the section where the button with the two overlapping pages is located.

After clicking on the icon, another confirmation window will open with the following message: Are you sure you want to duplicate this record? Click Yes.

Another example concerns transactions. You can click on Accounting > Transactions and select the desired transaction. In the Info tab, you will see the button with the two pages overlapping each other.

Note: In the new record, the system has kept the same code as in the original record, but added the suffix “-COPY” to ensure that no duplicate data is created. It is therefore your responsibility to assign a new code to any new record created in this way.
