Configure Payment Terminals

We recommend configuring a terminal even if you use an approved payment processor.

Configuring a Terminal Allows You to:

  • Connect the system to your payment solution
  • Facilitate payment processing directly within GEM-CAR
  • Ensure better tracking of transactions
  • Reduce manual data entry errors

During Setup:

  • Enter the information related to your approved payment processor
  • Link the terminal to the correct workstation or user if necessary
  • Verify that the configuration matches your payment provider

When is this required?

  • If you want to process payments directly in GEM-CAR
  • If you use an integrated terminal (connected card payment)

When is this not necessary?

  • If you use a completely external, non-connected terminal
  • If you enter payments manually into the system

To configure a payment terminal, click on Sales > Configurations > Configurations.

Then, in the Sales tab, click on +New in the Terminals menu.

Here, you can enter your name and must fill in all the information correctly based on the terminal you’ve chosen. Required fields vary depending on the terminal. Then click Save and Close.

Pay attention to the tooltips that appear depending on the terminal you’ve chosen.
