Manage the Translation Field

In the software, certain fields can be translated into several languages.

These fields are mainly those used to share information with your customers, for example, the name of a product, which will appear on the customer's invoice.

Let's take another example: you have indicated that a customer's language of correspondence in his file is English, so the products you add to his invoices will be displayed in English for him.

Here's how the translation fields work:

Above the multilingual fields, you'll notice that a translation icon appears to the right of the field.

By default, the field you fill in will be inserted in all available languages, so there's no need to fill in translations, especially if your clientele is essentially unilingual.

When you click on this icon, a window like the one below appears. Here you can modify the field value according to the language. Please note that an option to confirm the translation can be clicked; there will be more information on this subject at the bottom of this FAQ. You will also notice that the system's current language cannot be modified in this display, as this is the field displayed primarily on the form, so you can modify it directly on the form.

If you change the language of your system using the icon at the top right of the page, you'll notice that the translation fields will be displayed in the chosen language in the lists as well as on the forms and search fields. What's more, when these fields are used in mailings to your customers (products, e-mail templates, etc.), the field will use the appropriate language translation.

Note: The "Translation has been validated" checkbox is for information purposes only. If you work with translators, you may wish to have your translations validated. In other words, you don't need to check it for your translation to be effective.

Click on the menu Configurations > Translations.

Here you can manage all the translations in the system at once.

Filter the list by those that have not been validated (checkbox mentioned above) and by module.

Write the translation in:

  • French
  • English
  • Spanish

Check the box "Translation has been verified" when it is appropriate.

Click on Save and Close.
