Configure the MailChimp

To use MailChimp in your GEM-CAR, you need to configure a few settings. 

First of all, you need to create a MailChimp account.

On the first page, enter the following details to create an account:

  • Business email;
  • Username;
  • Password.

Click on Sign up.

A confirmation window will inform you that an email has been sent to continue the registration. 

In subsequent windows, you will be asked basic questions so that a detailed profile can be created based on your needs. Enter the following data: 

  • First name;
  • Last name;
  • Business name;
  • Phone number.

Click on Next.

Enter the address of your business. Click on Next.

Choose an option that answers the question "How do you sell to your customers?"

Click on Next or We're not currently selling.

Choose an option that answers the question "What's your top goal with Mailchimp?"

Click on Next or Skip.

Choose an option that answers the question "What are the most important features for your business?"

Click on Next or Skip.

Confirm your industry. Click on Next or Skip.

Select your contact range, to answer the question "How many email contacts do you have?"

Click on Next or Skip.

Once you get to your profile page, you'll have several options for setting up your MailChimp. 

To connect it to your GEM-CAR, you must create an API key. To do this, click on the avatar with the initial of your name and select Profile

Then select Extras > API keys.

If you don't have any keys, under the menu Your API keys, click on the Create A Key.

Enter the API Key Name, then click on Generate Key. 

Copy the new API Key by pressing the Copy To Clipboard. 

On your GEM-CAR, click on Configurations > Configurations.

Click on API tab. Under MailChimp, enter the API key. 

Go back to your MailChimp to copy the Audience ID

Click on Audience > All contacts > Settings > Audience name & defaults.

Under Audience ID, copy the numbers and letters in red. 

On your GEM-CAR, click on Configurations > Configurations > API tab. 

Under MailChimp, enter the Audience ID. Click on Save.
