Reverse a Transaction

Reversing a transaction allows you to cancel a previously completed operation. This process is generally used to correct errors or unintentional actions. Please note that this operation may have consequences depending on the type and status of the original entry. Carefully follow the steps below to ensure the reversal is processed correctly.

Step 1

In the left menu, click on Accounting > Transactions and select the transaction you want to modify.

Step 2

In the Infos tab, perform the following actions:

  • Copy the Reference.

  • Press the Reverse button at the bottom of the page, next to the Duplicate button.

The confirmation window will display the following message: “Are you sure you want to invert this transaction? The current window will be closed.”

Press the blue YES button.

In the next window, in the Infos tab, perform the following actions:

  • Add the previous Reference (the first reference) and add the term Rev.
    For example: REV-UNI1225

  • Click on Save.

Note: If you wish to reverse and redo the original transaction, here is what you need to do.

You must reverse the transaction again and in the next window, in the Infos tab, perform the following actions:

  • Add the previous Reference (the first reference) and add the term Correct.
    For example: CORRECT-UNI1225

  • Then you can modify your transaction.

  • Click on the green Save button to save your changes.
