Create a Sales Report by Department for Income Statements

To generate a sales report by department in the Income Statement, it is necessary to use tags to associate sales with the correct department.

Sales can be associated with a department in three ways:

  • By department, based on the transaction settings.
  • By job, when the sale is linked to a work order. The department associated with the job is then used automatically.
  • By category, by setting a default department in the category. This configuration is used when no job is associated with the sale.

Once the departments are configured, generate the Income Statement by tags. The report will display revenue broken down by department, in addition to the grand total, allowing you to easily analyze the financial performance of each business segment.

To generate a report on the Income Statement, click on Accounting > Reports > Income Statement.

Next, in the following window, enter the following data:

  • Type of code to display
  • Report type (Group by transaction tags)
  • Start period
  • End period
  • Filter by transaction tags

Click Send.

Result: the revenues are grouped into columns corresponding to each tag, as illustrated in the example below.
