Associate Product Sales to Different Departments

Regarding the sales reports, we offer three options:

1. Sales Report via the Summary

2. Sales Report by Product by Different Departments

3. Make the Transaction in the General Ledger to Report the Details

Sales Report by Product by Different Departments

It is possible to associate sales of the same product with different departments depending on the context in which it is sold. This configuration allows for proper allocation of sales in reports and ensures accurate tracking of revenue by department.

Click on Inventory > Products and Services and access the product record.

Select the department that will be associated with this product. Click Save.

Key points:

1. The department must be specified in the product. This will be used if no “job” is associated with the part.

2. If parts are sold as part of a “job,” they will automatically be associated with the department linked to that “job.”

Generate a Report on Product Sales by Department

To generate this report, in the GEM-CAR main menu, go to Sales > Reports > Summary.

In the next window, enter the following data:

• Start date;
• End date;
• Sale type;
• Group by;
• Filter by departments.

Click on Send.

The report contains the following information:

• Sales;
• Product;
• Quantity;
• Sales;
• Quantity;
• Return;
• Cost;
• Commission;
• Fee;
• Profit $;
• Profit %.

You can print and convert the report to PDF by clicking on one of the yellow buttons at bottom left, next to the Close button.
