1. Configure your Terminal on the Stripe Website

The client must first contact Stripe and create an account for their business.

In GEM-CAR, to receive automatic payments with terminals, you need to click on Configurations > Configurations.

Then click on API > Merchant Accounts > Start invoicing with Stripe in under an hour.

Next, enter the email address associated with your Stripe account. Click Continue.

Then enter the password and click on Send.

Once you have logged in, you will see a screen similar to this:

Click on the Search bar and type “Terminal” to start setting up your terminal.

Meanwhile, your terminal will display a code under "Register this reader", since this is your first time using the terminal.

Then click on the Locations tab and +Create Location.

A window will open in the right-hand corner of the screen, allowing you to enter the following information:

  • Location name
  • Phone number (optional)
  • Location address

Click on the Readers tab, then click on Register reader.

A window will open in the right-hand corner of the screen, allowing you to enter the pairing code on the first smart reader setup. Click on Next.

Select the location.

The message “Connecting to network” will appear on your terminal.

Click on "Postpone update." Your terminal will then be ready to use with Stripe.

Note that the status will show “Online.” Then click Home.

1.1. Important Information to Add to GEM-CAR

To complete the setup on your GEM-CAR, you will need the following information:

  • the Stripe account ID
  • the terminal ID.

To find your Stripe account ID, go to the Home menu and click on the link in the menu bar. You will see your account ID there. You can also access the Settings menu in the upper-right corner of the screen.

Click on Settings > Personal details.

Go to the Accounts section to view the list of accounts and their respective IDs. Copy this ID to use it in your GEM-CAR.

To find the terminal ID, click on the terminal that is online to view its full details.

At the top of the page, copy the Reader ID.

2. Configure the Stripe Terminal Information in GEM-CAR

In GEM-CAR, click on Sales > Configurations > Configurations.

On the Sales tab, under Terminals, click +New.

In the following window, enter:

  • Name
  • Terminal type
  • Stripe account ID
  • Stripe reader ID

Click on Save and Close.

Your terminal is now ready to accept payments.

2.1. In the Point of Sale

To accept payments with your Stripe terminal at the Point of Sale, after selecting the client and the products or services, proceed to Payment. Click on Send to payment terminal.

Then select Stripe as the terminal and click on Send. Follow the instructions on the terminal to complete the sale.

In the Documents tab of the Point of Sale, an invoice will be generated containing the payment details, including the transaction receipt number.

2.2. Refund

If you want to issue a refund, go to the Point of Sale, select the desired transaction, click Payment again, and the Refund option will be highlighted in red. Follow the instructions and click Send.

3. Verify Transactions in the Stripe Account

On the left side of the page, in your Stripe account, you can view all your transactions by clicking the Transactions tab. You will see details such as the amount, payment method, description, customer, date, terminal location and terminal reader, for each transaction.

4. Pair the Terminal with a Different Account

With the terminal in your hands, swipe from left to right, click on Settings, and the terminal will ask for an “admin passcode.” For the Stripe Reader S700, the default admin passcode is 07139. Click on Pairing, and it will generate another pairing code.

5. How to Delete the Stripe Account

In your Stripe account, click Settings > Account settings Business > Close Account.

5.1. How to Delete a Connected Account

To find a specific connected account, you can search in the Dashboard using criteria such as its name, email, or metadata. You can also view a list of accounts on the Connected Accounts page and click an account to open its Account details page.

You can remove and disconnect from your platform any connected account that has access to the full Stripe Dashboard. A removed account no longer appears in your connected accounts list, and you can’t process payments or make API calls for it. You also permanently lose any platform-controlled settings on the removed account, even if the account reconnects later. Please make sure this is the correct Account ID before proceeding.

To remove a connected account, click the overflow menu (...) on the top right of the account details page, then select Remove account
